Intro to Vedic Meditation Course
Vedic meditation is taught in person or via zoom over four consecutive days. It can be taught one-on-one or in groups
Day 1:
Welcome gratitude ceremony, receive your personal mantra and initial instruction, followed by meditation.
Days 2 through day 4:
Focus on refining your technique, exploring meditation mechanics, establishing a daily practice, understanding mind-body connections, managing stress, and unlocking creativity and intuition.
We meditate together during each session and practice between sessions.
By course end, you'll be equipped with practical experience and knowledge, becoming a self-sufficient meditator, able to practice anytime, anywhere, without guidance or apps.
Note: Completing all four sessions consecutively is essential, as each day builds upon the previous one.

Exchange
In the Vedic tradition, knowledge is honoured through an exchange of value, because what we invest in we cherish, and that fair exchange between student and teacher completes the cycle of giving and receiving, so the teaching is received with the commitment it deserves and you go on practising it for life.

Testimonials
I had the pleasure of attending a four-day meditation course with Sophie to help calm a busy mind, and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I found the course informative, calming and a truly beautiful experience. Sophie is a busy mother, wife and business owner which makes her a wonderful teacher who is well versed in the challenges of modern life. Her communication and follow up check-ins were clear and helpful, providing just the little reminder you sometimes need to keep up with your practice.
I couldn’t recommend Sophie’s course highly enough. It was a wonderful experience and one I’m very grateful to have had.

Children’s Meditation
The best way to encourage kids to meditate is to set an example of someone who meditates. Then once a child shows interest we tell them more about our practice. Typically kids who are 3-5 years in age will sit next to you while you meditate and mimic you. That is their way of showing curiosity. Or perhaps they start asking you lots of questions about your practice. For teenagers, they may compliment you on how adaptable you’ve become.
But the interest has to come from them. We might comment about our practice but their development has to be on their terms.
Prerequisites
A parent, teacher or close relative must already be a Vedic Meditator. We find that children gain the most benefit when they have an adult that they can model their behavior after.
Both parents must approve that the child is going to learn Vedic Meditation.
It’s a great time for kids to practice reciprocity and to provide something in exchange for learning. They will contribute a piece of art, a poem, bake cookies, or give a toy as their course fee. Parents will pay $100
How the technique is different for children (5 -14 years old)
Children utilize a personalized mantra, similar to what adults practice.
Instead of sitting with their eyes closed, they are encouraged to sit with their eyes open, walk around, and can even repeat the mantra in their mind while they get ready for school.
They meditate for as many minutes as their age. So a child that is 4 years old will meditate for 4 minutes twice a day.
Course
We’ll meet to provide a high-level overview of the technique and to answer any questions they might have. This ensures that the child understands and decides for themself that they want to learn.
Children will bring fruits and flowers for the ceremony of gratitude on the first day.
We will meet once for about one hour.
They receive the same worldwide lifetime of support.
Teenagers (15 years and older) may want to learn the adult technique. The course will be tailored to their needs and will pay a course fee of $550.
Typically a course for a teenager will be about an hour each day for 3 consecutive days.
So many people wish they had learned Vedic Meditation sooner. It is a wonderful gift for a child’s mental, social and physical development.
Retreats
Each year, I host meditation retreats, which are a wonderful opportunity to experience deep rest and rejuvenation.
Through the gentle process of rounding, over a few days, we can release deeply held stress and fatigue, equivalent to what you’d release in six months of twice-daily Vedic Meditation.
You’ll leave feeling like a different person. And you’ll continue to feel the effect in the months to come.
